Past Work

My past projects are all quite strange and hard to explain. I've done my best to write some information about each one.

Enjoy

Trigger warning for blood, gore, body horror and eyes.

DeadLine

DeadLine is a collaborative storytelling card game, targeted at 20-25-year-olds, in which players are tasked with curing an infectious virus that has taken over the majority of the population. In order to win the game players must guess the location, cause and tactic of the virus. DeadLine is a silent role-playing game meaning the only way players are allowed to communicate is through their phones, texting one another in group chats or private messages.

The game takes exactly 60 minutes to play, if the players have not guessed the location, cause and tac-tic by the end of these 60 minutes, they lose.
DeadLine was inspired by the COVID Lockdowns of 2020. The isolation and tone of death comfort that many of us received through our phones during this time is the exact energy that DeadLine replicates.

The aim of this research project is to immerse and truly disturb the target audience with strange imagery, detailed descriptions and a dulling of the senses. However, at the end of the day, DeadLine works to connect players with their friends. Game nights have always been an excuse to get your friends over and have fun with them. This card game aims to do all of that and more.

Our characters have gender-neutral names and can be played by anyone. As well as having their own individual personalities, secrets and missions during the game. They even have the possibility of becoming infected… You can imagine how well that goes.

The P.I.E Project

Timore Testing

When making this project I was really trying to push myself out of my comfort zone. All of my work is often visual so I wanted to force myself to create a strictly audio experience.
This ‘company’ specialises in interactive horror experiences. Much like interactive theatre the audience can add to the story and change the ending. The fun thing is that you can enjoy this show from anywhere in the world. All you have to do is sign up and schedule a time to receive a phone call. The performance is done entirely through the phone.
This particular experience is called the P.I.E Project, Phobia, informational, experiment.
The plot is based on the classic idea that you are being questioned by a doctor. In this call, you talk to a character “Jane Doe.” Jane Doe recounts several experiences and will ask questions about your reaction. There are several plot hooks and plausible endings you can get from playing along or taking control of the story.
When I performed the character of Jane Doe I found myself using lots of improv and quick thinking. Often making things up on the spot and going off script. This did add to each call as this meant that every experience was different.

SnowDrop

This project was a clothing brand that I designed with three other people. I was tasked with making the mascots/characters featured on merch, branding and even in the logo. We wanted our target audience to be children and parents. So cute, cuddly and warm was our main focus.

Snow Drop was the first character I created, he is the blue sheep. His tear-drop eyes are meant to be sweet and innocent, his little hat is the only clothing he needs. As he would surely overheat with all that wool.

Coco was the second animal I made, I only had to make one character but… ANYWAY. She is the sweetest snake anyone has ever laid eyes on. My whole thought process behind her design was. “Wouldnt it is funny if I gave a snake shorts… Get it? Because they don't have legs… GET IT?”
Yes, I did say that to my professors when I presented Coco to them.
I don't regret any of my actions.

Finally, there's Pup our adorable husky, he was bought into existence because it felt weird to only have two mascots. Pup is wearing a wonderful fluffy jacket that will definitely warm him up when playing in the snow.

Give And Take

Give And Take is probably one of my weirder creations.
So this ‘company’ wanted to create improved community gardens. Ones that were regularly tended to and cared for. This would mean that there would need to be hired help, so we need merch, branding and events to raise money for the community garden. Because at the end of the day, the most important thing about this project was that it had to be free to use.
So I created a couple of characters, they were humanoid creatures with vegetables for heads. In the ad, I wanted to turn them into puppets, so I did.
I also wanted the ad to be surreal and strange, in order to grab the attention of those watching it. So I added dream-like elements and tried to keep logic out of it.
Give And Take is what I ended up with.

Even now Im not quite sure what I unleashed onto the world.

Split

This project which I like to call Split, was one of the very first animations I made with After Effects. I wanted to test it out so I designed a ‘magical girl’ character. Not sure why but the main animation idea I had was splitting her head open to reveal an eldritch horror.
When my Motion design professor asked us to create animated intros about ourselves, I highly doubt that this is what she expected.
However, I do love to destroy people's expectations.

Whether it's for better or worse is debatable.

Burrow Pops

I created yet another mascot for this project named Burrow, Burrow is an anthropomorphic bunny who never smiles because he hates humans. Why does he hate humans? Because they are killing the planet.
I wanted to make a not-so-family-friendly carton mascot that constantly threatened the lives of children who littered.
Why? I thought it would be a fun subversion from the norm and also allow me to create some truly funny branding.
Burrow has a large lollipop weapon he uses to kill his enemies, and his tummy is made out of sugar with sprinkles.

For this project, we had to make a product that was environmentally friendly. I decided to create BurrowPops, Which were lollipops with seeds inside their sticks. The idea behind them being that you could throw the sticks on the ground, the sticks would decompose and flowers would grow from the seeds. Kinda like seed bombs.

Blink ...

This project had to be about a fake festival. We got to choose whatever style of music we wanted and then make advertisements for the music festival. We also had to use 3D elements in our work. I decided to mix 2D and 3D together.

My festival was called surface eyes and mainly focused on surreal, alternative, indie music like Jack Stauber, Sodikken and Jerry Terry. All of these artists have a similar strangeness to their work, with mixed media, frightening or even gorey imagery and let's not forget eyes! Eyes are a large part of each of their work. So I tried to incorporate each of their interesting styles into my work.
